About CF6-50 Engines

The CF6-50 engine is part of General Electric’s CF6 family of turbofan engines.  In the latter half of the 1960s, GE manufactured a high-bypass jet engine known as the TF39, but then introduced the CF6 series for civilian use.  Now, this series of engine powers numerous civilian airliners.  The Airbus A300, Airbus A310, Airbus A330, Boeing 767, Boeing 747 and McDonnell Douglas MD-11 all rely upon the power and efficiency of CF6 series engines.

CF6-50 has a thrust range of 46,000 and 54,000 lbf and was launched back in 1969.  During that time, these airplane engines were used to power the McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30.
