About CFM56-5 Engines

When CFM International designed the CFM56-5 series, it had the Airbus aircraft in mind.  This engine series has a broad thrust range of 22,000 to 34,000 lb_f and is divided into three variants:  CFM56-5A, CFM56-5B and CFM56-5C.  Unlike other engines, the CFM56-5 series features Full-Authority Digital Electronic Control (FADEC) and has evolved to incorporate aerodynamic improvements.

Now, CFM56-5 engines are responsible for powering Airbus A319, Airbus A320, Airbus A321 and Airbuis A340 aircraft and have become well-recognized for reliability, cost-effectiveness and easy maintainability.
