About PW2000 Engines

Pratt & Whitney PW2000 engines have a thrust range of 37,000 to 43,000 lbf and were designed specifically for the Boeing 757 family and this particular engine competes with the Rolls Royce RB-211.

PW2000 engines are responsible for powering all models of the twin engine Boeing 757 as well as the F117.  Back in 1984, the PW2000 was introduced to the airline market and was the first commercial engine to have FADEC (Full-Authority Digital Electronic Control).  In 1994, Pratt & Whitney decided to introduce an upgraded version of the PW2000 that offered Reduced Temperature Configuration (RTC).

Throughout the years, PW2000 engines have become infamous for reliability, great performance and for having a reduced negative impact on the environment.
